A man walks into a bar...

And let's hypothetically say he is celebrating his 26th birthday with some friends and has a few too many drinks. Let's also say, hypothetically, he is asked to leave the bar...walks outside...and is punched in the face splitting his lip badly and giving him a concussion when the back of his head hit the ground...

This guy woke up the next morning so sick from the week's earlier workouts, the cold, and the celebrating that he could not speak for 4 days straight.

Ok...it's not hypothetical, I'm sitting here in the comp lab after my first day with the ability to speak (though still very hoarse), a headache and pretty nice lip that causes people to stare.

This is not the way I had planned the birthday night going, but I guess that's what happens. I'm not sure who hit me, or even why...neither is anyone else, but the good news is that I am recovering well and I was back on the trainer earlier today.

I'm certainly not proud of what took place, though I was actually behaving quite well and having a wonderful evening with some great friends, and I am only sorry that my poor pregnant girlfriend had to look after me these past couple of days. It should be the other way around!!!

Well, time to start training for the Desert Classic Du in Phoenix, AZ at the end of February...

Hasta later!!!

P.S. I'd like to apologize for letting things get in the way of my training...to my family (including Resie), my friends, my coach, and the people who support me. It's all focus all the time from here on out to get ready for 2010!
