Well, it was a great weekend for me...
Friday went well with an hour run and some good core work afterward to get nice and sore. Then Saturday was a solid indoor workout on the bike with 90 min. in the trainer then 30 more minutes on the rollers at a pretty good clip. It finally felt like I got in a good solid workout.
Sunday I woke up to howling wind of about 30 mph and a temp of about 15 degrees...aka GO BACK TO SLEEP WEATHER. Well, the weather didn't get any better and I was worried that laziness and rationalizing would take over and I wouldn't get my run in. For some reason around 3:00 I decided I'd brave the storm (it had started blowing sideways snow at around 1:30) and run to the indoor track to try and at least get a bit of a run in then run back home. I didn't think I'd get all 12 miles in, but at least I could say I did something. Well, Sean and I ran to the indoor track the long way, then after about a mile I actually started to feel good. I started clipping off 6:30's before I knew it and felt wonderful as I was just in shorts w/ no shirt indoors! I ended up running a little over 9 miles on that little track and even threw in a 5:20 ish mile just for kicks...it felt wonderful! I finally felt like an athlete again...I got home and had run exactly what I wanted to in the first place...good times.
This morning was my first time back in the pool after getting my lip split in two. I felt awkward the first few hundred yards and my lip felt funny under the superglue holding the two pieces together, haha. But I eventually found my stroke and knocked out 10x100 with Sean. I got in a bit of a cool down and got after about 2200 yards. Not too shabby :)
We came home and made EXCELLENT omelettes and just chilled for a while. Jake and I got into an argument about Tony Romo and the Cowboys (I get a little defensive when it comes to Romo...I'm not sure why, but I really want him to do well. This post season he'd better show up for me!!!) And I was ready to do my 2nd workout right at noon. I ran for about 45 min. easy to shake out the all indoor run that I did yesterday. My knees are awfully sore, but I think I just might be getting old. Ugh!
Well...that's pretty much it. Resie's taking a Calc final at the moment and we'll leave for Salina, KS to have Christmas with the Zackary family on Friday mornin'. I sure hope I can find a pool there!!!
Hasta later,
-Yorek
