So, I didn't do anything crazy, but knocked out 2 solid hours on the bike (which doesn't sound like a lot, but it was on the schedule) on Saturday and then did about 12 miles of running on Sunday morning.
It was awfully cold on Saturday, but I was ok as I've learned how to dress finally. I would go back and forth between 30 second efforts of high cadence and 53-11 power work to take my mind off of the mundanely flat Alamosa roads.
Then there was the baby shower for Resie and I at Sandra and Juan's place. A big thank you goes out to them for holding it for us and to the ASC soccer girls for showing up and making it a fun time! We got a lot of needed things for the baby, and I think it was really helpful for Resie to get some well deserved attention and social time.
Sunday morning was a great long run, had I not been wearing a watch...it was much tougher than it should have been to run 6:45 pace. I'm sure it's the altitude and the fact that I'm putting in much longer runs than in recent training, but it's ok.
I then went to church with Sean and met up with Resie for breakfast at Campus Cafe!! So good!! There is nothing better after a long run than a breakfast burrito and pieces of a cinnamon roll :)
As for today, I slept in while the rest of the house (Jake, Sean and Resie) went to the pool. I did not go as I will be working out with the ASC swim team for the first time this afternoon. We'll see how that goes!
Well, I'm off for a little 45 min. run before a little lunch and then to the pool.
Hasta later!
