Long Sat Ride, Short Sun Run

Well, the weekend started off great. I got to sleep in for the first time in what seemed like forever. Then I met Justin Litchfield at Starbucks on Congress & 6th (a beautiful place to be in downtown Austin) for a quick cup of coffee, then we headed out for a ride that took us for a total of 67.3 miles according to my new handy dandy Garmin 310xt :) It was a good ride that got awfully hot (around 103) toward the end.

Then I got off the bike and ran just short of 4 miles. Ugh...that was tough.

Afterward I just chilled down at RunTex and ate a chicken sandwich (a HUGE chicken sandwich) before finally meeting up w/ Justin and Ira for a nice meal at a Korean place downtown.

On Sunday, I woke up...finally at around 10:00 which was nice, but I just felt lazy for sleeping in so late. Then I had some cereal, watched a movie, and fell asleep again. It was terrible! I just felt like crap and that I could sleep for days.

I finally made myself get up and do some laundry at the laundromat. Again...terrible! After finally getting everything folded and hung up...ish, I got myself to the trail for a run. What was supposed to be 10-12 miles ended up being just short of 8 miles as I ran 8:13 for my first mile and wanted to quit right there. I'm not sure why, but I felt horrible. I sucked it up for the rest of the run and there were 3-4 miles that weren't too bad, but it was starting to get dark, and I was done.

I went home, ate, and fell asleep.

Today has been great, I knocked out an easy hour on the trainer this morning, am about to leave work where I had a pretty good day, and I'm going to run and swim over at Pure Austin (Quarry Lake).

Tomorrow mornin' will be hill repeats on the bike! I can't wait to tackle Jester Road! It's a crazy hill here in Austin that I've never ridden, but heard crazy things about. It's gonna hurt bad, but I'm gonna crush it!

hasta later,

-Yorek
